Hey Jimmy, I'll take some pictures and measurements if you like. Do you have an operator/parts manual?

Hello Jeffrey,
Does your 1340 have a telescopic taper attachment ?
I too bought a incomplete lathe. It has a telescopic taper attachment, but, missing everything, including the ball crank handle on the crossfeed screw assembly clear to the taper attachment. I'm trying to figure out just what the telescoping parts are ( where they slide together for the 4 inch travel ), are they splined or is it just a one keyway deal ?
Also on the other end of the crossfeed where it's retained in the taper attachement, I'm trying to figure out just what these parts are? Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated !
I also am installing a 2 HP single phase motor and do have the originial drum switch, with much scearching I found some information how to wire it for a single split phase motor, the information pretty much follows your information.
I don't get on this site much so if you or anyone else has any information to offer my email address is: thedyserts@suddenlink.net .
I've been in contact with the Standard Modern parts people and being retired, don't have all the funds needed to buy everything I need. But, I have the time to make these parts, with no other sources to get information. I keep searching the internet ! Would even consider buying a "parts" lathe to just get this information or travel to where someone has one torn down for rebuilding and check out these parts.
If I can help someone with what I've learned, please feel free to ask !
Thank you and good luck with your project !
